By David Attenborough was a spectacular, not only because he is amazing in his documentaries and has wonderful career in broadcasting. The series quality of videoing and camera technology is astonishing capturing details that has never been shown before.
I personally got inspired by the series because of David's age :91 years old, still full of energy and firm belief in protecting our beautiful planet and increasing awareness about the importance of connecting with nature. His narration and sense of humor is also so entertaining and engaging.
I watch lots of documentaries, but this series has touched me deeper. Few points below :
- The ethics of perseverance showcased by various animals and species;tiny, small or large mixed with the beauty of our planet: forest, grasslands, dessert and polar regions and ingenious ways that animal achieve patience to survive.
- Survival is a skill not a necessity. that is how animals deal with challengies and opportunities nature thraws at them. We humans take survival as a necessity and go much far in selfishness to quarantee our survival/luxury in this Earth regardless of outcomes. Aren't we over-paniking and destroying our only beloved planet in the process in exchange for small negligible temporary gains.
- The progress and advance of our civilization on this Earth doesn't necessarily justify the use of various tech savy and environment in-friendly practices. The series clearly showcase that animals rely on basic ingredients of nature and ingenious methods learned to create sophisticated solutions in order to find food, mate(impress females, fight, flourish their specie), grow offsprings( build houses, decorate, etc). A message hidden in there indicating to us that frugal engineering, appropriate technologies, indigenous knowledge and less use of unnecessary technologies and gadgets.
-Learning from day 1: most newborn animals learn in day one: to run, to eat and drink and to build strong emotions and feelings needed for the environment they live in and for adulthood.
-Learn your limitations from day 1 too.
-Travel: Long overhaul treks seeking new nutritious food elsewhere, chasing rain, and searching for better environments for food, mating and raising kids.
-change/Need to improve is a daily need not a one off phenomena as we have always been taught.
-stamina is a daily encounter.
It takes intelligence and nerves for animals to proliferate in the natural world on our Planet Earth. I am concerned that this might not remain the case if we keep negativly impacting the environment in the way we do know and in the same rate. I am still hopeful of the ingenious ways the amazing species can adapt and cope in order to proliferate on Planet Earth.
