International Volunteering Day

Today is the international volunteering day. Designated by the UN in 1985. An opportunity for volunteers to showcase their contributions around the world - to the achievement of the Millennium Development s. Volunteering is something that once you start it and get to understand the significance of what you are doing, you change at different aspects. Personal level, your understanding of life and the blessings that God has bestowed on you. On another note, volunteering is one of the pillars of developments of nations and humanity. Imaging, that volunteering becomes mature and common in developing countries as it is in developed countries. In developed countries volunteering is now at the level of not just improving cohesion and social justice and integration in the community to advancing the technology, research and science. It all starts with a question?

Where are you from? A question I usually get asked whenever I go around the UK. It's a sort of question that I don't like. It is tempting to answer it with just 'Excuse me: what do you want that for? '. Especially when the question comes from a person who just met you for the first time and you know what's coming next. Usually this question comes from people who shares the same background and ethnicity and bigger aspirations for life. There is a huge difference between the mentality, intellectual status and aspirations of someone asking this and someone asking ' What are your interests?'.' What are you life aspirations?', I think many of us know the importance of questions. It is the essence of learning. I remember being taught at school to ask good questions.
