International Women Day

Happy international women day. Great day for every us ( men) to remember those great women in our life. Those who without them we are nothing and to affirm their high status as stated in the Qur'an. We should also remember that sadly the violence against girls and women persists and that our communities should be working harder to address this. It is unacceptable anyway forget for Muslims that women are going through such treatment.

I am kind of confused to as how we are failing miserably to understand that women are so special. In fact they are the blessing that Allah has created and put between us(mean) and them (women) affection and mercy. So I think it is not natural at all to oppress and mistreat women.Though I admit women are harder to understand, don't get me wrong,haha.
  
It’s great to mark this day, although, for me it is kind of a mixed emotion.  Happiness that this day is marked and women right and status is being attempted to be addressed but also sadness that such efforts are not converted into meaningful action in real life. I also remember my mom, 4 sisters, particularly and aunts, relatives, my respected female colleagues whom I met throughout walks of life.

To my mum I say I wish I was next to you kissing your head, smelling your nice perfume and driving you around, May Allah bless and ya7'aleek leena you and In sha Allah see you soon. I wish that by next year we have achieved more progress so that we longer need to mark international women day in an ideal world around us
