Quran Caaamp...Yeees
Alhamdllah, Allah had given me tawfeeq to attend quran camp, 5-7 April 2013, In Cardiff University. Amazing weekend of diverse activities, team building excercises, lectures, workshops and importantly brotherhood and sisterhood.
The speakers/presenters were amazing, unique in their own regards, yet, lived the experience with the attendees. I think they were inspired to inspire us and has become part of brotherhood and sisterhood of the camp.
The camp left me with brothers for life, sisters whom I admire and an awakening of the Quran. Awakening of knowledge, though scratching the surface, is, I would say, strengthething my relationship with the Quran. Awakening is like fog lifting. The more you have a picture of how much you need to know, the more you want to know it. I have also realized that inside everyone of us there is a burning need for triangulity, peace and knowledge. All are in the Quran, everyone takes and absorb what he/she can get.
The numerous jokes, mid-night banter and whispring, the exchange of videos on youtube of those qarri's each one loved!. Various personalities, ages and levels of people there, has meant one thing to me: this Quran is special. It seems obvious but how many times have I deeply felt it.
The worshop session about Quran learning style and how the Quran in its form, written book is the most appealing method for us to understand it, was amazing. Written book( for visual learners), Recited(for Audio learners) and how it stimulaes imagination and brain work(Kinestatic learners). This is in contrast to current TV culture that kills thinking, pondering and switches people brains. SubhanAllah the Quran matches all levels and styles of learning that anyone of us has while being universally valid for anytime and place.
I pray Allah makes our relationship with Quran stronger and more frequent. Ameen
Thanks for reading :)
