ICCCEEE Sudan- First IEEE conference in Sudan:Reflection
It has been great to participate and contribute to the first
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) International
conference on Computing, Electronics and Electrical Engineering (ICCEEE). The
conference took place in Corinthian hotel, Khartoum.
The morning buzz, networking, the much awaited tea and coffee
breaks all characterise conferences.
The technical sessions running in different rooms and the
scene of people running in and out to be
able to catch up that presentation of a paper that interests
them. The networking sessions which I
aimed to interact with as much people as I possibly can. That
hidden voice in me telling me:
‘’This is not a normal conference you usually go to. This is
in Sudan ‘’. For sure networking would be
different. The words,
the tones and the awkward starts to conversations. All different and
enveloped in the happiness of the moment. We are all here in the
first conference in Sudan. How
awesome!! How different.
As soon as the first day starts to pass by, it was evident,
to most of those attending I guess, the
efforts of the volunteers. Their business, coming in and out,
making sure things are in place for the
speakers, checking autobiographies, speakers, etc. They were
super busy and every single one of
them was giving all what he/she has got. As
expected, the warmth of hospitality that they have
given the attendees was just incredible. I am sure the international delegate
and especially the keynote
speakers have felt it and would be something that they will remember for
years to come. I believe it is
never more fascinating to see such group work and feel the impact
of what we are capable of doing. I
believe, and has always had the faith, in our potential. The
fact is, setting our vision and working
together towards it, is the most shortest and effective path
to success. It all starts with the mind-set,
attitude and willingness to grow and learn in the process. I
am proud that our universities that has continued
to bring those volunteers, so keep learning and developing.
It was amazing seeing the hard work of the volunteers, the
youth of of Sudan, learning from their
mistakes and striving to deliver the best. The speakers team, thank you for
putting up
with my requests. Technical team, you guys has been
great. I enjoyed working with you in technical
sessions. The media team: your impact was felt all the
time with a great coverage and photos.
We started the conference with you pushing the limits
in taking care of us(presenters and authors)
and we left with you as friends.
On another note, being able to catch up with my great
teachers at the University of Khartoum was
wonderful: Dr Mohammed Ali and Dr Tahani Attia. It felt great
seeing them again and embarking on
discussions with scent from the past carrying more hopes for
the Future. Also Dr Karar, Dr Saad
and Dr Sharief Babikeir from the university of Khartoum.
This conference has been great start. It comes with great learning points and put us in the context and
position of delivering more. This requires learning and reflecting on what could be improved upon. I am sure
the volunteers and organising committee would hold a feedback meeting to evaluate everything.
ICCEEE13 was a great step forward for research and education
development in Sudan, those young
volunteers have been an integral part of this. I am sure, with us working
together, we can achieve more and
step huge leaps forward Insha’Allah.

This conference was in Sudan, and that made all the difference in the world.
ReplyDeletewe were all, authors, volunteers, guests and citizens filled with pride and a high spirit of collaboration.
and the cherry on top was the closing ceremony, where science, technology, engineering and Sudanese future and heritage became one.
I will always take pride in ICCEEE 13
