International Volunteering Day

Today is the international volunteering day. Designated by the UN in 1985. An opportunity for volunteers to showcase their contributions around the world - to the achievement of the Millennium Developments.

Volunteering is something that once you start it and get to understand the significance of what you are doing, you change at different aspects. Personal level, your understanding of life and the blessings that God has bestowed on you.

On another note, volunteering is one of the pillars of developments of nations and humanity. Imaging, that volunteering becomes mature and common in developing countries as it is in developed countries. In developed countries volunteering is now at the level of not just improving cohesion and social justice and integration in the community to advancing the technology, research and science. For example, the main discoveries in cancer research and cure is being developed by Cancer Research UK - a charity.

Volunteers out there, celebrate your day. Celebrate that you are among such an amazing personalities.
Celebrate the ability to help change the live of others for better.

Volunteers in Sudan. Despite the difficulties and the lack of resources, you are doing a magnificent job. Keep going. I am in contact with amazing people like you who work on promoting education, knowledge management, fund raising for the poor, etc. You are the start of change for us, May Allah bless you.

Volunteering is not just about building capacities of organizations Only, it is about making peace, sharing time and expertise. As I said in my yesterday post, sharing ideas and knowledge and finding right people to build the vision is the key to living a wonderful life and leaving a legacy .
